Rubaboo is a loose, organic-sounding, experimental, electroacoustic psych folk act from Lotusland (British Columbia) whose lo-fi digital home studio recording method is best described as "improv and collage." Whimsy, mysticism and warmth swirl together in a whirlwind of gentle cacophony. Their first album (recorded in one month during the RPM Challenge 08) Realistic Barnyard Friends is a rambling opera about proletarian chickens and a helper monkey revolting against a tyrannical farmer, and a Secret Goat sage who intervenes to stop the bloodshed and usher in an era of "Peace, Love and Kittens." Their follow-up EP Amor De Comsos In Lotusland (released by MungBeat!) is a four-song meditation on their languid West Coast home.
