'all hope is blind' is the second shalloboi release of 2009 and the last until at least 2011. the songs take the sparser nature of the songs on 'dandelions' (the first shalloboi release of 2009) a step further, making the arrangements and lengths more compact while also allowing for more breathing room. the string arrangements (played by billy speer on cello, chris gagnon on viola and violin and katelyn eldridge on violin) are more fully fleshed out and pushed more to the front. the vocals are less reliant on the doubling techniques employed on 'down to sleep.' the guitars are more subdued- there is not a single distortion box employed on any of these tracks. several of the tracks were recorded live as well rather than built piece by piece (which is how most shalloboi albums were created) contributing to more of a band sound. the vinyl comes with a 12-page zine-style booklet which can be viewed by clicking here.

figured this might be a good place to mention that the vinyl version of this has been out for about a month now.
