Bastard Son of Joan of Arc

Made in the two weeks of my only vacation off college. Recorded entirely inside my room with guest contributors/really awesome friends. The basic theme of the album is isolation in large spaces, centering on my hometown, a small suburb south of Philippines called BF Paranque.

A few notes: Track 5 (Kagilagilalas Na Pakikipagsapalaran ni Juan de la Cruz) was a poem written in my native language (that's Filipino) by poet/screenwriter Jose F. Lacaba in 1972. Basically, its about the plight of the poor. I just love the poem and had to put it in my record. Also, I made a sloppy rendition of Diamond Sea (my favorite Sonic Youth song) and I'm hoping I didn't butcher it so bad.
