Behold! The Back That Broke The Camel's Straw!

Peninsula is an insecure twentysomething who should have been putting his songs out when he was in high school. His name is Jim Gorton and he is a self taught performer. He loves stomping and clapping especially w/ crowd participation. He is quoted saying, "I'd rather play a campfire than any stadium, amphitheater, or venue: it's much more epic and intimate."He loves playing with other performers and hosting them, cooking vegetarian food, kitties, comic books, libraries, girls, boys, science fiction, and the do-it yourself aesthetic. This album was recorded in a laundry room while he was in the process of dropping out and breaking up, (or various laundry rooms) with a help from friends on a few tracks. My friends Jarod Fleming (musical saw), Little Ryan E. Davis (high falsetto singing), Brett Horton (handdrums, backing vocals), Micheal Loveland(electric guitar) and Noah Boone (singing on one track.) were greatly appreciated. This album is about losing one's drive to be productive and whether anything is really important beyond keeping your bearings. It was all recorded on the microphone on my computer then slightly digitally altered with reverb and other neat things in garage band. I tried to fill out the whole cd so that is why there are so many tracks!
