blue-eyed

'blue-eyed' is culled from sessions that started as early on as spring of 2001. it grew from an album that tyler ritter started to make on his own earlier in the year- much of which was like 'burning star' and 'colourblind' from the middle section of the album before he bought a sampler and started playing an electric guitar with a bow (which is what comprises most of the other songs). much of it was begun in a haunted house in kansas city that ritter lived in until christmas of 2001. the rest was finished over a period of a few years in portland. some vocals were recorded in a tiny closet in his cramped studio apartment where he also used to practise. it was finally finished and released in november of 2004 during a seven-month long unemployment stint.
