the 'dandelions' ep came together quickly after shalloboi's 2008 release 'down to sleep.' it was done with an approach similar to 2007's 'learning how to crawl.' musically it takes the thick distorted guitars of 'down to sleep' and pares them down in places to create a more stark sound. the strings are placed more towards the front as well and the vocals are less reliant on the vocal doubling techniques used on 'down to sleep.' the ep is meant to bridge 'down to sleep' to 'all hope is blind' (which is the next shalloboi release in the pipeline).
