Fire In the Mountains
2008
It's a record about coming to terms with unfortunate circumstances. I've had a lot of dreams about fires, trains, and mountains. I think of how even in the most desolate of times during the winters of discontent, i am still able to keep myself warm with passion, mostly through the perseverance I've discovered through the art of composing and creating even if it means going broke. After a near-death experience (chronicled in the first song), I gradually learn to appreciate all the wonderful things that have made my life so beautiful. There are also a couple of songs that are not autobiographical at all for a change. All in all, the production is simple; the songs were written on a classical acoustic guitar. But I also used household percussion, and included Tim Bales on trumpet as well as Mark Adkinson on violin. It's about selflessness and the need for recreation.
This record is dedicated to:
PJ "Super Famicom," Patrick "Redbear," and Tony Presley.

What huh ? Did I do that? Thanks Kelsey! Message me if you want free stuff for being so kind :)
Hey! You! Why did you take yourself off of your submitted artists? Your stuff is amazing!!!!
!!!
I'm glad people like this record, fourpaws. In hindsight, I think it could be better, but I'm too self-critical, especially about my records.
This record would've kicked so much ass if I had put newer songs on it like "I'll Be Damned" and "The End." Thanks for the kind comment. I think "I Hope" is a standout song, for sure :) Yay!
i can't believe i never listened to this until now. this is really good!
there are some subtle magical bell sounds in "i hope" that make me incredibly happy. :D

Patrick, you're sick. I heart you.
This is the best album currently on cllct.
Aw shucks. You're a sweetheart Morgan. It's got flaws, but I am fond of each song for different reasons. My lyrics still need work, and I'm just self-critical as balls, but really, sincerely, I do appreciate the kind comment. I'm lookin forward to playing the new songs live :)
