ViewsThis live bootleg from the Foster Home, recorded and performed on 2.13.08 was uploaded with verbal in-person permission from Paul Baribeau. He is too cool and too kind. But this serves as impetus and motivation for you to buy his three records from Plan-It-X records or better yet, see him on tour and buy records then so he can keep playing shows. More info here:

I met him, but I doubt he'll remember me.
It was at a show he was doing with Kimya+Angelo in Charleston. The bar was crazy and he was getting pissed at all the stupid drunks, but I was happy to see him perform no matter what the circumstances.
Anywho, he pulled out a notebook from his magical red backpack and left it on the stage, so I went ahead and reminded him that it was there.
Afterwards, I got a signature and he complained about how my notebook was wide-ruled. :D
I don't buy wide-ruled notebooks anymore, just in case.
I hope to see him perform again in the near future. When he sings Strawberry, you are almost guaranteed to tear up a little bit.
And next time, I hope he isn't so pissed about all the loud drunks. :)
I met Paul on livejournal before his first plan-it-x cd came out. I had no idea he was as awesome as all that. Then I met him when he played in bloomington after that and it was cool. Then he lived here for awhile, and that was awesome.
Magic horses!
I sat down with him and gave him a hand signed copy of my album. I think I drew a dog on it. I have a vague memory of him joking about how 52 cookies would beat 52 cards any day or something...and then he played and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
I was kind of star struck the first time I met Jeffrey Lewis, but I guess I had to get over it quickly cause he was sleeping in my house.
Don't feel bad Patrick! I wimped out TWICE!!!
He played once in 06 and I didn't try talking to him and then he played again at a friend's birthday and I still didn't! Its funny that I could be starstruck even in this world....
Though I was somehow not giddy when I met Russ or Tony of RLT. Even though thinking back I should have been ;)
Don't be so humble. The music's here...I don't think people are going to complain...maybe they'll be like, "who's this james eric chap?" and then look and find out you are awesome. Worst case scenario.
This show sounds pretty good, but I liked it when i saw him better...probably because I was there. Paul sounds like he's getting a sort of van morrison thing goin on sometimes...cool!
I wish I didn't wimp out from meeting him and run away at the last moment.
Share the love is my philosophy. It was as good a show as expected. I'm not going to let the MySpace world know about this until the jukebox thing is fixed. If it can't be then, alas alas, it'll do.
for the recording!
it is swell.
I hope everyone enjoys this live show from Paul. But is there any way to change the jukebox player for it to NOT include my name. That's a bit silly and awkward.
