I made this record in 2007 after a serious bout of writers block. My father had posted a fake obituary for me on a website, and I decided to tell all of his secrets in song. And the secrets of some other folks, as well. The record gets shifted towards my perspective near the end, and I'm happy to say that this is my favorite album that I have ever made.

The songs were recorded in the order that they appear, and that's why my voice gets more and more ragged as the songs progress. But hey, it's honest. This is what I sound like singing in a room. Some thought this was the most layered album I'd done in some time, but it's actually quite sparse.

Not to sound pretentious, but if I have to be remembered for something? I'd like this album to be it.
