HELLO FRIENDS & NEIGHBORS

here's an explanation on why these recordings are kind of disjointed and don't sound the same:

these are porches songs that are no longer available on a physical recording format. they are songs that i really like, but that i don't think i'll ever release again for various reasons. some of them are from records that i re-recorded parts of, some of them are songs
i re-recorded but i like these recordings anyway.

please feel free to write me with any questions about them or send me songs of your own at bdhorowitz@gmail.com. i think this 001collective is a great idea. even within the "DIY" or "PUNX" culture, people are starting to treat music like a commodity and not like something to be shared, interacted with, and learned from. i think that in doing this we sell ourselves short and miss out on friends and adventures and general hippy shit.

on that note, i'll probably be doing a hugemongous tour in august. drop me a line if you want to hang out.

e-love, ben

tracks 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 were part of an 8-song tour demo that i had the pleasure
of recording with alternate parts jon douglas, jason woodbury, teague cullen,
taylor jackson, and zane gillum, all in the living room of sir douglas'
domicile. the rest of the songs were re-recorded for a full-length
called "things don't make sense" that i am super proud of.

track 2 was recorded in the living room of the palace of no malice on the computer
of taylor jackson with the aforementioned accompanying on drums. this song
was re-recorded twice, with the newest version coming out on
"things don't make sense."

tracks 7 and 8 were recorded at teague's house (the tiny animal house) with
teague cullen, abelardo gill, and brittany. track 9 was recorded at jon's
house with jon douglas, morgan bellinger, andrea alonge, zaida lane,
norman shamas, and alexander ginsburg. these songs, and one
more (also re-recorded etc. etc.), were released on a split
with my friends/bands: a technicolor yawn
and hands on fire.

i recorded track 10 with taylor's computer in my bedroom for my lady who
was too far away to sing it to in person.
