Rock or Something
2007
Allow me to explain the album title and cover. After Hurricane Katrina bitch-slapped my Mississippi, a lot of my folks had to subside on Meals-Ready-to-Eat, or MREs, supplied by the Army. The boxed dinners come with a magnesium powder packet that, when mixed with water, generates heat to warm the food. There are instructions with pictures on how to use the MRE heater. One of the directions is to lean the MRE upright. The diagram, depicted on this album art, shows that one should prop up the MRE on a "rock or something."
Kind of a perfect name for an album, especially for someone who sings a little about the post-apocalyptic South.
