Songs For My Friends And Those Girls
2011
This is an album chronicling the confusing, bizarre, depressing, annoying, sometimes infuriating, frequently drunk and occasionally high late fall/early winter of 2010; spent watching friends having breakdowns whilst in the midst of one of my own. The songs are about love mostly; or more appropriately what happens when you are reminded in grand fashion that love isn't as simple as you'd like it to be, and that people aren't as genuine as you'd like to think they are. Special thanks go to my good friend Pinky, who helped me find the dark places and dig in the right spots; couldn't have gotten better without getting worse.
All the originals were written in November and December of 2010, and all the songs were recorded between November, 2010 and May, 2011 on Tascam 4-track and 8-track cassette machines, with a little help on #2, #5 and #7 from a Tascam 2488 24-track digital machine.
Jenny Penny played the drums on "Hey There!" and "On The Comedown".
Syd Barrett wrote "Dark Globe".
Paul Burnout played the drums on "We're So Wishy-Washy (You've A Beautiful Brain)".
Martin "Pinky Stink" Pinkowicz wrote "A Place We Can't See".
Bobby Rogan wrote and played everything else.
