quirky indie pop/ folkpop album recorded in june and july 2008 before carrie moved to Ohio. It has 13 songs on it, 2 of which are two part-ers. This is was lovingly crafted with ukuleles, mandolins, guitars, banjo, bells, horns, cello, violin, percussion and didjeridoo (yes aborigine didjeridoo). These songs were written over the last year or two and finally recorded in Alexp's studio "The Meadow" and finally released in July 2008. The cover art was designed by alexp and josh chang.
The Songs:
Song for the Backseat - ethereal opening track. it has a harp-mandolin on it!
Everlasting Thing - "sounds round and opratic"-david packman. Its really just a simply ditty with violin on it.
Lullaby for the Restless - slow lullaby, one of the best songs on the album in my opinion. has didjeridoo on it!
Till There Was You - classic cover of a classic love song.
Ukulele Instrumental - pretty sweet if I do say so, just lots of ukuleles and percussion.
Let's Go! - peppy tune featuring lots of trombone from Tim Rottenberg!
Crazy - lyrics for this song were written by Kimberly from San Francisco. Has a cool slide guitar solo.
Major Chords - one of the most catchy songs and the easiest to sing along to! coupled with a cover of Happyships by Watercolor Paintings
Winter - a new recording of this gem of a ukulele tune. Its beautiful. Written and totally played/sung by Carrie.
Your Song - was on a single we did. its timeless.
Singing Over a Sunset Pt 1 & 2 - jangly folk love song with lots of guitar mandolin and bells.
Save Your Sunday - a fully fleshed out pop song with drums guitar, mandolin and the works!
Butterfly Bumblebee - simple pop song with many jam parts at the end. Features some sweet jangly guitar, cello, sound effects and great horn outro! Like a GREAT horn outro.

I hope you guys like the album, let us know what you think of it. Were really proud of it and think its a really good statement of ourselves and just quality fun pop music.

Dang, its a great album, I listen to constantly while driving...You should feel proud only the elite of the elite get to ride with me. "Singing Over a Sunset" is probably my favorite.

Aww, Alex, this is really good stuff. So much better than the older Paper Orchestra recordings. Congratulations on a job well done. You deserve to be proud of this.

it's a sweet sweet record and some great little songs especially "Song For The Backseat," but I think the sequencing is a bit sloppy and adding the two songs from the single was unnecessary even if I do like the new recording of "Winter".
