This World Is Scary As Fuck

When I released "This World Is Scary As Fuck", I was still recovering from a certifiable nervous breakdown. Enough was recorded for the album that it could have easily been a double disc deal. The fat was cut, and I put together an album that I had little intention of promoting in live circumstances.

The record was seen as a huge departure for me at the time, and was met with derision from fans and gritics for being too "dark". There's just as many happy and hopeful songs here as there are gloomy tracks. I'm still very, very proud of how the album ended up. And after the audience had a few years to let in sink in, many of these songs became constant requests at live shows.

Most of the love songs were written for a gal that I ended up marrying on February 11th, 2008. She came over for a bowl of soup and quite literally never went home. She's the reason I didn't up and quit when I was threatening to do so, and she's the reason I'm still alive. This record is really for her.
