Forrest Gump's mama always said, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
But what one consignor got for that actual box of chocolates from the movie was a lot of money.
In a Propstore auction Thursday, the chocolates sold for $37,800.
Although there was no confirmed photo-match, the box of Russell Stover chocolates still had a yellow ribbon on it, the same as the box that Forrest, played by actor Tom Hanks, had when he went to visit his first love, Jenny.

In March, Heritage Auctions sold a Russell Stover box, said to used movie but did not include any unique markings, for $57,500. The price was undoubtedly boosted by the prop being autographed by Hanks.
"Forrest Gump," which was released in 1994, was a huge success, doing $678 million in box office receipts off a $55 million budget. It won six Oscars the following year, including Best Picture and Hanks as best actor.
