Five years after the series finale, more than 2,000 props from “Game of Thrones” are headed to auction at Heritage.
From costumes, swords, axes, pins and more, here’s a look at cllct’s 10 favorite items from the more than 900 lots currently available.
In a show filled with iconic imagery, no symbol is more important than the Iron Throne itself.
Used during promotional events for the show, this touring throne was molded from the original used on screen and painted to appear as if it had been stabbed by swords over the years.
Along with a number of premieres and comic-cons, this throne traveled with the “Game of Thrones” Touring Exhibition, visiting cities from New York and London to Paris, Berlin and Sydney. The throne is about 7 feet tall and weighs more than 300 pounds.
Jon Snow “Longclaw” longsword:
A number of “Longclaw” props are available, though one used during Season 6 has shown more interest through the early days of the auction.
Among the most famous weapons in the show, this “Longclaw” example measures 42 inches long and features a “Valyrian steel” design stamped into the aluminum blade.
The sword, which also features a wolf-head pommel for the Stark crest, shows production wear, fading and oxidation.
Daenerys Targaryen white fur coat:
Packed with small design elements that call out major themes from Daenerys’ journey, this white fur coat was made for Season 8. However, it is likely most associated with a critical battle against the Night King north of The Wall.
Costume designer Michelle Clapton told Heritage the white fur denotes the last of Daenerys’ innocence, while red elements that show through the fur are a callout to the blood she’ll later spill.
Arya Stark “Needle” action rapier:
Gifted by Jon Snow in the second episode, “Needle” might have completely reshaped Arya’s path for the series.
While many of the biggest battles featured armored knights or the horse-mounted Dothraki warriors launching attacks against their foes, Arya slowly became one of the most lethal assassins in the Seven Kingdoms, instead striking with extreme precision.
This action rapier was used in Season 1 and measures 30 inches long.
While “Game of Thrones” has a number of famous swords, daggers, axes and spears, few items caused more damage than the bell used by Septa Unella while Cersei Lannister completed her naked walk of punishment in Season 5, Episode 10.
Though the chants of “Shame!” were simple, they led to Cersei seeking revenge on her growing number of enemies throughout Season 6. This bell shows production wear and some distress.
Jaime Lannister gold hand and cuff:
Outside of Ned Stark’s head, no amputation in “Game of Thrones” was more stunning than the moment Jaime Lannister lost his hand in Season 4.
Among the greatest fighters in Westeros, Jaime was forced to use a brass replacement, severely limiting his ability with a sword.
That moment helped reshape Jaime’s character arc, however, and the brass hand has gone on to become one of the show’s most memorable costume changes. This hand and cuff show production wear with slight oxidation.
Tyrion Lannister Hand of the Queen pin:
Few moments were more pivotal than when Daenerys Targaryen presents Tyrion Lannister with this pin, declaring him Hand of the Queen and forming a powerful partnership that would eventually help Daenerys launch her assault on Westeros.
Used during Season 6, this is an original sculpted pin that shows a left hand holding a blade and shows minimal production wear.
Night King cuirass and weapons:
Since his chilling debut, few fictional villains have been more memorable than the Night King. This lot features a leather and metal cuirass, as well as multiple weapons wielded throughout the show.
Along with a 41.5-inch long ice sword, this lot has a 105-inch long ice spear, which is used to take down the dragon Viserion — a moment that has remained one of the most shocking in the show’s history.
Daenerys Targaryen dragon egg:
You can’t have dragons if there aren’t any eggs, and these first-version eggs feature a translucent green resin.
Hand-crafted during Season 1, a different design ended up being used on screen, which featured duller hues. The eggs made their debut in the series as wedding gifts celebrating the union between Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo.
"We wanted the eggs to look as if they held a latent, magical energy, hence the translucent quality,” prop maker Gavin Jones told Heritage.
Used in Season 8, this hand-crafted wheelchair was one of two versions made for the show. Along with this iteration, which was used for the majority of sequences, a reinforced stunt version was used for mobile shots.
Built with polished wood and a leather seat cushion, this wheelchair shows general production age and wear.
