In the wake of the highly-anticipated reunion of Oasis, Propstore announced Friday morning the largest collection of Noel Gallagher guitars to ever hit the auction block.

The lots include 18 guitars owned and played by Noel Gallagher, handwritten lyrics and a Liam Gallagher stage-used tambourine.

Of the dozens of lots relating to the British band which achieved worldwide fame upon the release of their debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” in 1994, the headliner is Gallagher’s Silver Sparkle Gibson Les Paul Florentine guitar.

The one-of-a-kind Les Paul was described by Gallagher in a 1997 interview as “the best in the world” and has a high estimate of around $530,000. Used during 1997 and 1998 for both live performances and the recording of the album “Be Here Now,” described by Rolling Stone as “one of the most notorious bombs in rock history.”

Propstore placed the same guitar at auction in 2022, however, it went unsold after receiving bids of around $350,000.

Despite the seemingly-planned nature of the auction given the intense hype surrounding Oasis’ reunion tour, a representative from Propstore confirmed to cllct that it is truly a coincidence, explaining “the auctions take months and months to curate, so their announcement was a welcome surprise.”

"Propstore is genuinely excited to offer fans the chance to own these extraordinary pieces of music history, said Propstore Music and Poster Specialist Mark Hochman in a statement Friday morning. “This auction provides a unique opportunity for people to connect with the legacy of Oasis and we can’t wait to see these iconic items become part of new collections that will celebrate them for years to come.”

Other items coming up in the November auction include multiple sets of handwritten lyrics from Noel Gallagher, such as lyrics to the generational hit “Wonderwall,” which has a high estimate of nearly $10,600, as well as an autographed set from both brothers including two of the band’s biggest hits "Supersonic" and "Live Forever.” That carries a high estimate of $7,900.

Last year, Propstore sold a complete set of lyrics for every song on “Definitely Maybe,” handwritten by Noel Gallagher, for over $13,000.

Propstore isn’t the only auction house poised to capitalize on the band’s reunion, as Sotheby’s will be including multiple Gallagher guitars in its inaugural Popular Culture auction, another coincidence according to Sotheby’s head of popular culture, reported by cllct earlier this week.

The auction will also include a less traditional piece of “music” memorabilia in the form of Noel Gallagher’s custom-made “psychedelic” golf buggy which was given to him in the 1990s as a gift from his former wife and was repainted in the style of John Lennon's Rolls Royce Phantom V limousine.
