A 2024 Rolls-Royce Ghost, originally purchased and owned by Tom Brady, will be auctioned next week at Sotheby’s, with bidding already hitting $400,000, with 11 days left in the bidding.

First unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2024 Rolls-Royce Ghost retails for between $354,750 and $416,250, according to Car and Driver. As bidding approaches the upper bounds of the MSRP range — already surpassing the reserve price and listings for comparable fixed-price offerings — it’s clear Brady’s prior ownership will add a premium to the sale price.

duPont REGISTRY hinted in a preview of the auction there was the possibility of a signed jersey being included along with the car. Sotheby’s does not include any reference to the bonus item in the lot description.

Cars with celebrity provenance are common to see at auction, with consigners often marketing the association as a value-add, though this is not always the case in reality.

Often, the most successful celebrity cars belonged to or are associated with people already tied to rare cars or motorsports, such as actor Steve McQueen, who drove a 1968 Ford Mustang GT390 for one of Hollywood’s most famous car chases in the film “Bullitt,” which sold in 2020 for $3.74 million.

Brady’s affinity for rare cars is well known, with the future Hall of Famer signing an endorsement deal with Aston Martin in 2017 involving a content series and the creation of his own custom car, based on the Vanquish S.
