It might not have been the most important game of his career, but it certainly was one of the most “Mamba” defining.
Kobe Bryant going to the line to shoot two free throws — and making them — after tearing his Achilles in the game against the Golden State Warriors on April 12, 2013, was a moment for the ages.
On Friday, Goldin announced a consigner had put Bryant’s jersey, which is photo-matched to that game by Meigray, into its Goldin 100 auction, which opened Friday and will conclude June 1.
Prior to bringing the item to Goldin, the seller, a longtime Goldin consigner, had photo-matched the jersey with MeiGray.
As bidding opened Friday, with a minimum bid of $250,000, the item quickly received an initial bid of $305,000 (including buyer's premium).
In 2021, Goldin sold a rookie Bryant jersey used in a preseason photoshoot for $3.6 million.
Last year, Sotheby’s sold Bryant’s “jersey pop” uniform from his 2007-08 MVP season for $5.8 million.
