Love of the Game Auctions to donate portion of sales to L.A. fires

LOTG's spring auction will open in March and close April 8

Love of the Game Auctions will donate a portion of proceeds from its upcoming auction to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund to support victims of the wildfires in Southern California, the auction house announced Tuesday.

The auction is set to open in March and close April 5.

“It is heartbreaking to see the devastating effects from the wildfires in California,” Al Crisafulli, LOTG founder and auction director, said in a statement. “It’s so important to us to be able to help those in underserved communities, and we are grateful for the work that the California Community Foundation continues to do to support the victims.”

No details regarding the contents of the upcoming auction have been announced, though the auction house said it would welcome consignors to join in their donation and put a portion of their commission toward the efforts. The auction house was founded in 2012 and is based in Kingston, N.Y.

Love of the Game Auctions’ most recent auction, which closed in November, had 22 lots close at more than $10,000 apiece.

The California Community Foundation has provided more than $30 million in aid to communities afflicted by disasters in the region since 2003.
