In the wake of New Era’s MLB "Overlap" hats’ viral mishap, including the Rangers’ version which appeared to spell out a Spanish vulgarity, the manufacturer promptly removed the Texas hats from its online store.

But it appears some Rangers hats already have made it into outside hands, and the viral miss has generated serious dollar signs for a few sellers on eBay.

One of the Rangers hats, which retailed for $44.99, sold for $999.99 on eBay Wednesday morning. The sale was confirmed by eBay’s product research tool, Terapeak.

The listing appeared to include a photo taken by the seller, unlike previous sales which included only the stock image from the website (though, multiple such listings managed hundreds of dollars in sales between Tuesday and Wednesday).

Another Texas hat, featuring a different photo, is currently listed at a fixed price for $1,000.
