Just two days after the New York Yankees hit a franchise-record nine homers in a game and their Torpedo Bats took baseball by storm, a bat maker is offering versions of the new bats for order.
On Monday night, bat manufacturers Marucci and Victus, both owned by the same holding company, unveiled three Torpedo bats each on their website, ranging from $199 to $209. The bats will be made to order and promise to ship within a week.
The bats, which move more mass into the sweet spot of the barrel, have been all the rage following the Yankees hot start.

Victus president Jared Smith told cllct, in his 15 years of making bats, nothing has lit up phones like the Torpedo bat.
"Of course, we are going to lean into it," said Smith, who said both the Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles had been testing the bats in their bat lab.
Despite experimenting with the idea for a more than a year, Smith said he's not convinced it's time to go all in on the Torpedo.
"It will definitely be here for good now," Smith said. "I'm not sure if it will take over the league or it will just be a fad."
While impressionable young players, who have been buying up sliding mitts, high-end batting gloves and pencil bats, will surely like to step up to the plate with the loaded Torpedo bat, Smith said the company is currently looking into whether a metal bat would act the same.
"The Torpedo has definitely achieved cool status," Smith said.
