Williams Racing announced a multi-year agreement with Memento Exclusives, a sports memorabilia company specializing in Formula 1, on Tuesday.
Memento Exclusives, which is the official supplier of F1 show cars and simulators, will sell official Williams Racing memorabilia including signed photos, mini helmets and bodywork displays under the brand F1 Authentics.
Other F1 teams, such as BWT Alpine, have had long-standing deals with Memento Exclusives.
The agreement will entail the re-engineering of Williams Racing bodywork into items such as wheel rim tables that “showcase form and function.”
“We’re delighted to bring Williams Racing, a team with such rich history in British Motorsport, onboard as our latest licensor. Our agreement will allow us to bring fans and collectors closer to the team and the drivers, as well as celebrate their heritage,” said Barry Gough, CEO & Founder of Memento Exclusives and F1 Authentics, in a release. “The show cars and simulators will join our expanding collection, and to see the iconic liveries get brought to life by our Memento Exclusives team will elevate the activation even further.”
For Williams, the racing team sees the opportunity as a chance to enhance its reach in the collectibles market, in addition to new types of innovative concepts.
“This licensing partnership with Memento Exclusives will give fans and collectors the chance to own their very own special piece of Williams history, safe in the knowledge that it is genuine and authentic,” said Marcus Prosser, marketing director from Williams Racing, in a release. “We are also looking forward to working with Memento to create state-of-the-art show cars and simulators that will excite and engage fans around the world.”
Products are already available on the F1 Authentics website, including an Official Williams Racing FW46 2024 Simulator priced at $116,663 and an Ayrton Senna "hand embellished canvas" by Paul Oz for $1,679.
Topps signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Formula 1 to become the official sticker and trading card partner in 2020. This announcement seems to focus on unique memorabilia and experiences which would not affect the Topps agreement.
