The Caitlin Clark collectibles craze continues to pick up speed.
Rookie NASCAR driver Josh Berry will race his No. 4 Mustang at the Brickyard 400 on Sunday with an all-new paint scheme inspired by a Clark trading card.
Announced Tuesday in a partnership between trading card manufacturer Panini America and Stewart-Haas Racing, the new paint scheme includes artwork from the Raining 3s insert included in Panini's Caitlin Clark Collection.
Released July 1, the Caitlin Clark Collection is a 50-card set that celebrates Clark’s accomplishments at Iowa.
Panini’s first primary car sponsorship for 2024, the deal is also Panini’s first at the Cup Series level since 2021, and will have the Clark logo featured on Berry’s car and firesuit for the rest of the season. Panini previously had primary car deals with the Xfinity Series from 2019 to 2023.
“We are proud to be partnering with Josh Berry and Stewart-Haas Racing, starting at the Brickyard 400,” Jason Howarth, Panini America’s senior vice president of marketing and athlete relations, said in a statement. “Panini America and NASCAR have had a long and successful relationship, and this is another great example of that."
Currently 21st in the Cup Series standings, Berry has two top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes in 21 races.
“Every race-car driver wants to compete at Indy. It’s hallowed ground that all of us treat with a tremendous amount of respect,” Berry said in a statement. “To be there with Panini and promote its new Caitlin Clark Collection just adds to the prestige of racing in the Brickyard 400. Indy is a great sports town, and it’s an honor to have Caitlin Clark as a part of our effort.”
The No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever in April, Clark is a heavy betting favorite to win WNBA Rookie of the Year and, despite struggling with turnovers, is the first rookie in WNBA history to record 400 points, 150 assists and 100 rebounds.
Clark’s cards have been trending up as well, with Card Ladder’s Caitlin Clark Index showing an 11 percent increase in price over the last month.
