Jayson Tatum’s 2024 NBA Finals jersey, worn during Games 1 and 3 against the Dallas Mavericks, sold for $96,000 Tuesday evening at Sotheby’s.
The jersey, which comes via Sotheby’s partnership with the NBA, sold just weeks after the auction house sold another Tatum-worn jersey from the same series for $108,000 — though that jersey was only matched to a single game (game 2). Estimates for both jerseys were $30,000 - $50,000.
Tatum’s Championship-clinching game 5 shooting shirt sold for $10,800, resulting in cheers from the room at Sotheby’s.
Other top-sellers from the auction included a Luka Dončić jersey worn during the first half of game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals notched $33,600 (his game 1 "NBA Finals Debut" jersey sold for $50,400 earlier this month), a Jaylen Brown jersey worn during game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals, as well as Eastern Conference finals and semifinals games, which sold for $38,400 (his game 2 jersey sold for $60,000 earlier this month) and a game-used ball from the 2024 NBA Finals game 3 which fetched $13,200 after nine bids in online bidding..
Derrick White’s jersey worn during games 1 and 3 sold for $12,000 while Kristaps Porzingis' "NBA Finals Debut" jersey reached $14,400 and Kyrie Irving’s jersey worn during the first half of game 1 sold for $8,400.
A jersey from Jrue Holiday’s 2024 NBA Finals games 1 and 3 sold for $20,400 and an Al Horford jersey worn in those same games sold for $11,400.
