Olivia Newton-John’s leather jacket from “Grease” sold for $476,250 at Julien’s Auctions on Friday.

The jacket, worn by her character Sandy during the film’s final scene in which she sings “You're the One That I Want" and "We Go Together” with John Travolta’s Danny, first sold in 2019 for $243,200 in a charity auction.

Then, in an unexpected turn of events, the buyer returned the jacket to the singer.

Proceeds from the sale will go to The Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund for cancer research and wellness programs. Newton-John died of cancer in 2022.

Other “Grease” and Newton-John items have proven popular among deep-pocketed collectors. The only pants worn by Newton-John in the production fetched $162,500 in 2019, her costume from the dance competition scene sold for $60,000 in 2022 and a script signed and annotated by Newton-John and Travolta sold for more than $35,000 in 2019.

The “Hell’s Chariot” convertible from the film was offered at Julien’s with a $400,000 to $600,000 estimate in 2015. However, it failed to meet its minimum price and did not sell.
