Pete Maravich's NCAA scoring record of 3,667 points stood for 54 years until Caitlin Clark took the throne in 2024.

Still, Maravich’s career at LSU remains otherworldly as he averaged 44.2 points per game over three seasons.

The only photo-matched Maravich jersey to ever cross the auction block from his LSU career, worn during the 1967-68 season in which he averaged 43.8 points as a sophomore, is set to sell at Heritage Auctions this week with an estimate of $150,000 and up.

MeiGray’s photo-match does not feature a specific date, however. Due to the differences in jersey styles, it has been determined to come from his first year playing for LSU as a sophomore (rules prohibited him from playing on the varsity squad as a freshman).

Hardly any “Pistol Pete” jerseys from his NBA career have appeared with a photo-match at public auction either, with a 1970 Hawks jersey selling for a little less than $75,000 in 2023, and a 1973 Hawks jersey going for slightly less than $70,000 in 2022.

Maravich's college letterman jacket sold for more than $115,000 in 2021.

The current bid for the Maravich LSU jersey sits at $79,300, including buyer’s premium, with less than a week remaining in the auction.
