Electronic Arts has announced the official cover athletes for the release of the highly anticipated "EA Sports College Football 25" video game.
Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and Colorado wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter will be featured on the first covers.
The trio previously headlined the photo release of the deluxe edition, which also featured Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe and Georgia QB Carson Beck.
“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who impressed and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season and are poised to do so again this year,” said Daryl Holt, SVP and group GM of EA Sports, in a press release. “We’re proud to be able to incorporate thousands of current athletes in College Football 25, and featuring this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is a perfect fit as we usher in a new era for EA Sports and college football.”
Both Texas and Michigan have previously had multiple players on the cover. Former Texas running back Ricky Williams (1999) and former linebacker Brian Orakpo (2009) both headlined NCAA Football. Former Michigan defensive back Charles Woodson, the only primary defensive player to ever win the Heisman, donned the cover in 1998, Desmond Howard made an appearance in 2006 and former Wolverines quarterback Denard Robinson (2013) was the last player to appear on the cover before the game went on hiatus because of NIL rights.
According to On3.com, Travis Hunter (fourth) and Quinn Ewers (sixth) both rank among the nation’s leaders in NIL valuations, with Hunter listed at $2.7 million and Ewers at $1.9 million. Edwards is currently not listed in On3’s top 100.
The new game will be released July 19, but the full reveal will come Friday.
