AMC Theatres is launching a new line of high-end screen prints, starting with a limited-edition poster for the upcoming "Gladiator II" film starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington.
According to AMC, the line of posters will include a number of high-end elements such as hand-numbering, hand-pulled screens and 24-inch-by-36-inch paper. Designed by a number of artists, additional prints for upcoming films will be available throughout 2024 and 2025.
Posters for "Gladiator II," which retail for $81.95, are currently available during a short “open-to-buy” pre-order window and are expected to ship in spring 2025.
Designed by artist Oliver Barrett, the print features Lucius Verus (Mescal) performing a spin attack with red ink accents on the swords.
“Art-driven movie prints deserve to be appreciated and owned by a wider audience," Barrett said in a press release. “AMC Theatres offers a huge platform for sharing this kind of hand-drawn art, produced through traditional screen-printing methods.”
The line of screen prints expands on an already robust merchandise program for AMC, which generated $54 million in revenue in 2023. The screenprint program also launches alongside a renaissance for collectible popcorn buckets, with AMC releasing exclusive buckets for brands including Batman, Marvel and more in 2023.
