AMC Theatres is continuing its recent run of collectible popcorn buckets for the upcoming release of “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” with a new container shaped like a hammer.
Set to release Dec. 13, moviegoers can purchase the warhammer, which measures 27 inches long and doubles as a popcorn bucket, with a large popcorn retailing for $32.99 plus tax.
The popcorn bucket releases alongside a collectible faux wooden stein that comes with a large soda for $21.99 plus tax. The popcorn bucket and stein can be bundled together for $49.99 plus tax.
Set nearly 200 years before the original movie trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim” will follow Helm Hammerhand, the king of Rohan.
The animated film is directed by Kenji Kamiyama, and Brian Cox will voice Hammerhand.
The hammer popcorn bucket is AMC’s latest in a run of collectible releases for films including “Wicked” and franchises such as “Beetlejuice,” “Transformers” and “Batman.”
Beyond popcorn buckets, AMC recently announced a lineup of collectible limited-edition screen prints for the upcoming release of “Gladiator II” on Nov. 22. Retailing for $81.95 each, the prints feature a design from artist Oliver Barrett as well as high-end elements such as hand-numbering and hand-pulled screens.
AMC reports that it generated $54 in revenue from merchandise in 2023.
