MLB The Show 25 will include Topps Rookie Debut Patches, the card company announced Thursday on social media.

The patches, which Topps first introduced in 2023, are affixed to a rookie’s jerseys for his first game in the big leagues. After the game, the patches are removed by MLB authenticators and sent back to Topps, which embeds it in a card which is then autographed by the player.

Two years in, the debut patches have been an unmitigated success, with the chase cards generated extraordinary buzz on social media — most recently regarding the bounty and discovery of Paul Skenes’ RDP card.

MLB The Show also announced physical copies of the game featuring Topps stickers would include one of three limited-edition exclusive MLB The Show 25 Topps cards.
