Guess who's back? Back again. Gravy's back. Tell a (Detroit) friend.

The Detroit Red Wings unveiled their 2024-25 Zamboni gravy boat giveaway Thursday, and fans are excited.

The first 7,500 fans to attend the Nov. 23 clash between Detroit and the Boston Bruins will receive this fan-designed gravy boat.

Detroit opened up the design process as a contest where fans submitted ideas, and the winner was selected by a popular vote.

Four finalists were chosen, two were red gravy boats, one featuring a center-ice stripe, while the other sported "LGRW", meaning "let's go, Red Wings." The other finalist was a white gravy boat with a turkey playing hockey.

According to Detroit TV station WTOL: The gravy boat has a retro look with a few nods to Red Wings history on the back, with "1926" honoring the year the Wings franchise got its start as the Detroit Cougars and a Cougars-inspired stylized "D" that was also used in the 2009 Winter Classic uniforms.

The giveaway, sponsored by Meijer, is certainly going to be one of the league's most popular this season, especially five days before Thanksgiving.

But Detroit isn't the only team capitalizing on the love of ice resurfacing and/or Thanksgiving. The Pittsburgh Penguins are actually conducting the same giveaway, on the same night, when they host the expansion Utah Hockey Club.

Some teams have already gotten into the holiday spirit, as the Vegas Golden Knights handed out Zamboni gravy boats this past Monday, when they hosted the Carolina Hurricanes.
