A collection of 24 autographed Hank Aaron cards, spanning his entire career from his 1954 Topps rookie card to 1976, is set to sell at Heritage Auctions in a unique format.
The auction house will allow people to bid on the cards as a single lot (estimate: $150,000 and up) as well as each card individually.
If the winning bid for the single lot exceeds the aggregate of bids for each card, then it will sell to that bidder. If the bids of each card add up to more, it will sell to the winning bidders of each card.
The most valuable card from the collection is Aaron’s 1954 Topps rookie card, one of the highest-graded autographed examples graded by PSA, which Heritage lists with a pre-sale estimate of $50,000 and up.
The collection is also the No. 1 current and all-time finest of its kind on the PSA Set Registry.
While autographed vintage cards used to be taboo, their rarity has brought them into fashion in recent years — perhaps most notably seen in the record sale of a signed 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card for $793,000 in December 2024.
