It was only a matter of time before the biggest star of the young 2025 baseball season received its own trading card: The Torpedo Bat.
Topps is commemorating the New York Yankees’ record-tying 15 home runs from their opening series sweep against the Milwaukee Brewers with a Topps NOW card.

The Yankees tied the MLB record for home runs to begin a season, setting social media ablaze thanks to the new Torpedo Bat, developed by the team after its analytics department studied Anthony Volpe’s at-bats and found he frequently made contact with the label of the bat rather than the barrel. The new bat moves more lumber to the spot the player is most likely to make contact.
Among the Yankees using the new bats are Volpe, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger and Austin Wells, each of whom hit at least one home run during the series.
Aaron Judge, who mashed four home runs in the first three games, is not using the bat.
Topps has priced the card, which features Chisholm Jr., at $8.99 each, with foil parallels numbered to 50 and lower randomly inserted into orders. None of the cards include actual pieces of the bats.
The release will also include the newly introduced Chrome and Opal Chrome parallels if the card surpasses certain print-run benchmarks.
