A 2021 Patrick Mahomes game-worn jersey sold for $192,000 at Heritage Auctions on Friday night.
Mahomes wore the jersey on Nov. 14, 2021, in a 41-14 victory over the AFC West rival Raiders. The two-time NFL MVP threw for 406 ards and tied a career-high with five passing touchdowns.
The jersey looks clean because Mahomes was never sacked in the contest, didn’t have any rushing attempts and was hit on just three dropbacks.
Mahomes gifted the jersey after the game to then-Raiders wide receiver DeSean Jackson with an inscription in the number on the back.
"To D Jac, Keep inspiring guys to have they own swag on the field! Patrick Mahomes #15.”
Ironically, the record for any Mahomes game-worn jersey came against the Raiders. Goldin sold his 2022 game-worn jersey in January for $213,500.
Mahomes memorabilia has become one of the stalwarts in the hobby in recent years, and rightfully so, considering he has won three of the last five Super Bowl MVPs.
In 2021, a signed Mahomes 2017 Panini National Treasures NFL Shield 1/1 rookie card sold for $4.3 million, which remains the most expensive football card ever sold.
Currently, the most expensive NFL game-worn jersey to ever sell was Joe Montana's Super Bowl jersey, which he wore in 1985 and 1989. It sold for $1.2 million.
