Jerseys worn by LeBron James and Bronny James during the Lakers' season opener in which they became the first father-son duo to share a court in NBA history sold for $102,000 at Sotheby’s Wednesday night.
LeBron’s jersey was worn during the historic game Oct. 22, 2024, against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as well as preseason games and NBA Media Day.
Bronny’s jersey is attributed to the second half of his debut game, though the auction house notes that due to “a lack of media of Bronny without a warm-up jacket on, it is not possible to photo-match.”
Bronny additionally wore the jersey during multiple preseason games as well as media day.
"It's great that these jerseys are for sale. It's a part of history that just adds to the whole story of the franchise," said Lakers super collector David Kohler, who purchased Bronny's Las Vegas Summer League debut jersey.
Notably, the pair's first moments sharing a court together took place in the first half, when they checked into the game with four minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter — meaning Bronny was not wearing the jersey in question during the seminal moment.
Bronny’s jersey from his first game in Las Vegas during the 2024 NBA Summer League sold for $38,400 in September.
Though the pair shared a historic moment on the court, the Lakers announced earlier this month Bronny would begin splitting time between the NBA and the team’s G League affiliate.
In six games with the Lakers this season, Bronny has averaged just 2.7 minutes per game while shooting 1-for-6 from the field.
