A love letter written by Michael Jordan to his high school girlfriend Laquetta Robinson in May 1981, when Jordan was a senior at Laney High in Wilmington, N.C., is up for auction with bidding surpassing $11,000.

The letter, which is signed twice by Jordan (once on each page) and graded PSA 8 and 9 respectively, has surfaced previously at auction.

Recently, it was among a lot of love letters from the time period from Jordan offered twice at Gotta Have Rock and Roll in 2023 and 2024, though it failed to meet its six-figure reserve price in both instances.

In May 2020, a 20-page Jordan love letter to another woman sold for $25,703 at Iconic Auctions.

In the letter, Jordan writes, “… you are my whole life next to basketball. Please don't get mad about that statement. You are my whole life, but you can't have basketball.”

He goes on to promise, “Next year, I will show you things you can’t believe.”

The following year, Jordan would win an NCAA title in his first year at North Carolina, hitting the game-winning shot in the championship game.
