Customers can expect delays in PSA grading service timelines due to a high volume of incoming submissions in recent weeks, the third-party grading giant announced Sunday night.

According to PSA, the unboxing and system entry of delivered packages has slowed the overall process. Submissions for Bulk and Value service levels are the most impacted.

“We are currently increasing staffing in our receiving department to help alleviate the issue, while also bringing new technology online in the first quarter of 2025 that will help keep receiving times consistent going forward,” the company wrote in a statement.

According to grading tracker GemRate, PSA was by far the most popular grading service among sports and trading cards in 2024 with more than 15 million items graded. Second-place grader CGC Cards finished 2024 with 2.32 million items graded.

Overall, PSA owned a 76% market share among the four major grading companies in 2024, including 80% for sports and 72% for TCG and non-sports categories.
